Sturgill Simpson & Stephen Colbert Go To Waffle House

In April, country musician Sturgill Simpson appeared as musical guest on an episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert during which he played “Brace For Impact (Live A Little)” from his new album A Sailor’s Guide To Earth. That evening Simpson also participated in a funny duet performance with Colbert on the Waffle House-themed anthem “No Shirt, No Shoes, No Knuckleheads,” and last night’s episode featured Stephen and Sturgill visiting one of the iconic restaurant chain’s locations.
Colbert explained that following the April debut of “No Shirt, No Shoes, No Knuckleheads” he reached out about getting the song added among the other Waffle House-inspired songs found on Waffle House jukeboxes. After being assured the track was added, Colbert and Simpson traveled to the host’s old hangout in South Carolina to play the song on the jukebox at his local Waffle House. Silliness ensues, with both donning WH uniforms and interacting with diners while playing the track over the restaurant’s PA.
