The String Cheese Incident offered a performance at Cannifest in Eureka, California over the holiday weekend. The Colorado jamgrass act delivered a second set full of weed songs at the Humboldt County event on Sunday.
SCI launched their Cannifest play with the title track off their 2023 album, Lend Me A Hand. The first set also saw the band pairing up “Missin’ Me” and “Dudley’s Kitchen” ahead of a set closing sequence of “Looking Glass,” “Shine” and “Rivertrance.” A “Cannifest Jam” connected the last two songs of the frame.

Set two got underway with SCI original “Sirens” which gave way to Cypress Hill‘s “Hits From The Bong.” The band was led by rapper Dr. Oop for the Black Sunday cut. Check out a clip below:
The band continued with a bevy of smoke out tunes including Bob Dylan‘s “Rainy Day Women #12 and 35,” The Toyes-written, Sublime-covered “Smoke Two Joints,” the Peter Tosh anthem “Legalize It,” Musical Youth‘s “Pass The Dutchie” and Damian Marley‘s “Welcome To Jamrock.”
Watch more of the second set:
Cheese returned to original music with a seamless sequence of “These Waves” > “Djibouti Bump,” “Colorado Bluebird Sky.” Then, “Enjoy the Ride,” “Shantytown” and “Rosie” wrapped the second set. SCI kicked off the encore with a cover of Paul Simon‘s “Under African Skies” before jumping into the traditional made famous by the Grateful Dead “I Know Your Rider,” in which they fit Bob Marley and The Wailers classic “Stir It Up,” to conclude the show.
