Sting Fits Several Police & Solo Rarities Into Sting 3.0 Trio Tour Opener

Sting kicked off his trio tour at Messehalle in Dresden, Germany. The Sting 3.0 Tour launch saw the legendary artist playing Police and solo rarities.

The Police are one of the most famous trios of all time. Bassist Sting announced he would return to a Police-like format for the Sting 3.0 Tour. His trio includes longtime collaborator Dominic Miller on guitar and drummer Chris Maas (Mumford & Sons, Maggie Rogers).

The Sting 3.0 Tour got underway with The Police fan favorite “Voices Inside My Head,” Sting’s first performance of the song since 2006, as per SetlistFM stats. After the 1979 hit, “Message In A Bottle,” the bassist offered “Synchronicity II” for the first time since 2018.

Following Sting solo classic “Fields of Gold,” the bassist also delivered bust outs from his solo catalog including “Never Coming Home” (last time played 2012) and “When the Angels Fall,” which had not been played for 32 years.

One final Police break out came in the ninth song slot, “Tea in the Sahara,” last played in 2017. The tail end of the concert included Police classics like “Walking on the Moon,” “Every Breath You Take” and “Roxanne.” The concert came to a close with Sting’s early solo cut, “Fragile.”
