This summer prominent singer-songwriter Steve Earle will host the third annual Camp Copperhead at Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, New York. The immersive four-day musical event is set to take place June 27 – July 1 in the majestic settings of the Catskill Forest Preserve.
Camp Copperhead features workshops with Earle as well as master classes in songwriting, poetry and guitar playing taught by this year’s guest instructor Shawn Colvin. Each night includes an open mic for campers to perform and the final evening includes a concert by Earle. A detailed schedule of activities will be shared later this Spring.

“This is going to be a good time,” said Earle. “We’re going to be living together, eating together, learning together and enjoying music together for four days. I’ll be using my songs as the template because I know those the best, of course! You’ll also have an opportunity to work with an incredible group of instructors, including my longtime friend Shawn. She’s a real live folksinger/songwriter, one of the best that I know. Plays great, sings her ass off and writes songs that will be around after we are all gone.”
“Steve’s Camp Copperhead promises to be a truly unique experience,” said Colvin. “Steve and I are committed teachers, and there are bound to be a lot of laughs, too. Plus, The Full Moon Resort is the perfect place to enjoy all of it!”
