Star Kitchen Shares ‘Punches’ Single

Star Kitchen shared a new single, “Punches” via Color Red. The song is the band’s second release of 2020 following their debut single “Entirely” which arrived in July.

Star Kitchen consists of bassist Marc Brownstein of The Disco Biscuits as well as guitarist Danny Mayer, keyboardist Rob Marscher and drummer Marlon Lewis. “Punches” also features Snarky Puppy and Ghost Note’s Nate Werth on percussion. SunSquabi’s Josh Fairman produced the track in February 2020 at Color Red Studios in Denver.

Star Kitchen released a statement detailing the single. Read it below:

I think we really captured a moment there. The vibe in the basement at color red & being snowed in. Things being a little messed up with Marc’s eye being injured and the general f’d up nature of 2020. COVID-19 was already popping up in the news at that point. Once we started jamming it became pretty apparent that, with our backgrounds and interests in hip-hop, reggae, jam rock and electronic music, we would have a pretty easy time creating in that space!
