Squeaky Feet Release Punchy ‘The Detective’ Single Ahead Of Spring Tour

Colorado-based progressive jam quintet Squeaky Feet dropped a new single, “The Detective,” along with an in-studio video. The track, set to appear on the band’s forthcoming second studio album, arrives ahead of Squeaky Feet’s 2025 Spring Tour.

“The Detective” follows Squeaky Feet’s debut LP, Cause For Alarm, which hit in November 2023. The band — guitarists Colin Shore and Greg King, drummer Kevin D’Angelo, bassist Jimmy Finnegan and keyboardist Brian Keller — are already back at it with their second album, due out later this year.

The first taste of the new record is “The Detective.”

“‘The Detective’ is the newest song in our live catalog and a really fun one to bring to life in the studio,” guitarist/vocalist Colin Shore said of the fresh cut. “The song is about trusting your intuition. It’s a bit leaner and more straight to the point than most songs on our first album, but still retains a lot of the heaviness and progressive edge of our earlier tunes. It’s a good representation of the direction of our second album as a whole.”

A prog-rock punch up, “The Detective” boasts otherworldly harmonic guitar work from Shore and King. D’Angelo laces his locked-in beat with double kick, accentuated by a slap sesh from Finnegan and textured with organ and percolating synth from Keller.
