Spoon released a cover of “I Can’t Give Everything Away” by David Bowie. The track is available on Amazon Music as part of the service’s [RE]DISCOVER campaign honoring the late David Bowie’s 75th birthday on Saturday, January 8.

David Bowie wrote and recorded “I Can’t Give Everything Away” for his last studio album, 2016’s Blackstar. Produced with Tony Visconti, the seven-track LP came out two days before the famed musician died.

“‘I Can’t Give Everything Away’ is a tune [Spoon multi-instrumentalist] Alex [Fischel] and I have been playing since we learned it for an acoustic and piano show in Mexico City in 2016,” explained frontman Britt Daniel in a statement. “It’s just a fantastic song, and as the last song on Bowie’s final album it doesn’t disappoint. We recorded this version live in December 2021.”

Spoon are gearing up for the release of a new studio album entitled Lucifer On The Sofa. The band’s first new LP in five years arrives via Matador Records on February 11.
