Fictitious metal band Spinal Tap appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to discuss their long-awaited mockumentary film sequel, Spinal Tap II: The End Continues. The trio also performed a live rendition of their classic bass-dominated song, “Big Bottom.”

Host Jimmy Kimmel interviewed the members of Spinal Tap while in character as David St. Hubbins (Michael McKean), Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest) and Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer). Director Rob Reiner, who reprises his role as documentary filmmaker Marty DiBergi in the pending sequel, also participated in the interview with Kimmel.

The sequel’s soundtrack is made up of nine new songs and four others reimagined from the original 1984 film. The End Continues features guest contributions from Paul McCartney, Elton John, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood.

The Kimmel performance marked the live television debut of Dee Dee Crockett, the latest in a long line of Spinal Tap drummers. Watch the interview segment featuring clips from the upcoming movie and the “Big Bottom” with all three members of Spinal Tap on bass, along with bassists Thundercat and Tal Wilkenfeld, below:
