Spafford called off the first four dates of their upcoming summer tour. The band was forced to cancel the shows as guitarist Brian Moss has come down with an undisclosed serious illness.

The Arizona-based quartet was originally scheduled to kick off their 2024 Summer Tour on Thursday, June 6 in Ludington, Michigan. Spafford also scrapped concerts in Whitestown, Indiana on June 7; Paw Paw, Michigan on June 8 and New Berlin, Illinois on June 9.

“We’re saddened to have to share that Brian has come down with a serious illness, and we’re forced to cancel the first week of our Summer Tour,” wrote Spafford in a statement. “Please send Brian all the good vibes and energy you’ve got – we’ll see you out there SOON.” Refunds for each of the canceled dates can be obtained via the point of purchase.

2024 has already been a trying year for Moss and bandmates bassist Jordan Fairless, drummer Nick Tkachyk and keyboardist Cory Schechtman. In March, Spafford’s touring vehicle was involved in a terrifying crash that led to Moss’ hospitalization. While the band went on with the show the next night, they wound up canceling the two shows that followed after experiencing delayed side effects.

Spafford are currently expected to start their summer tour next Wednesday, June 12 in Rochester, New York. Check out the complete itinerary by scrolling below.
