Memphis-based soul, rock and blues band Southern Avenue recently released their sophomore studio album, Keep On via Concord Records. JamBase is pleased to premiere Southern Avenue’s first ever official video, which provides a visual for the album’s title track.

“With the song ‘Keep On’ we wanted to remind people that no matter what we feel we deserve in life, we have to be willing to fight to obtain those accomplishments,” vocalist Tierinii Jackson told JamBase. “We have to learn to endure the hardships in order to earn and enjoy the rewards. Whether it’s chasing dreams or simply finding peace or forgiveness within ourselves, We simply can not give up. There is no healing in giving up.”

Southern Avenue recorded Keep On with producer Johnny Black at the legendary Sam Phillips Recording recording studio in their hometown of Memphis. Seminal Stax Records artist William Bell contributed to the 12-track LP as did acclaimed Memphis bassist Gage Markey and a horn section comprised of Art Edmaiston and Marc Franklin. “In terms of new artists with the talent to become the stars of the future, you need to look no further than Southern Avenue,” Bell commented.
