Soundgarden Announces 2017 Spring Tour Dates

Seminal grunge band Soundgarden has confirmed an extensive North American Spring Tour. The group will also reportedly issue a new album later this year.
Frontman Chris Cornell, guitarist Kim Thayil, drummer Matt Cameron and bassist Ben Shepherd, will mix standalone shows with a number of festival appearances. Soundgarden will set off with a performance on April 28 at WXTB Rockfest in Tampa, Florida. Later in the tour they’ll hit up the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, Tennessee on May 7 and Rock On The Range in Columbus, Ohio on May 19, among other festival stops.
The Pretty Reckless and The Dillinger Escape Plan will support select standalone shows, including Atlanta’s Georgia Theatre on May 3, the Fox Theatre in Detroit on May 17, the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver on May 22 and the Bomb Factory in Dallas on May 26. The tour is currently set to conclude on May 27 with an appearance at Rocklahoma in Pryor, Oklahoma. Tickets go on sale on Friday, March 3 at 10 a.m. local time.
On March 10 Soundgarden will release a deluxe remastered reissue of their 1988 debut album Ultramega OK. According to reports, the band will release a new studio album later this year. Soundgarden’s last album was their 2012 release King Animal.
