Soccer Mommy (Sophie Allison) rolled out the new single, “Holy Affliction.” The track appears on the upcoming Soccer Mommy studio album, Sometimes, Forever.

Produced by Daniel Lopatin (Oneohtrix Point Never), Sometimes, Forever is due out on June 24 via Loma Vista Recordings. The 11-track LP is the follow-up to Sophie’s critically-acclaimed 2020 studio album, Color Theory. “It sees Allison once again tapping into the turn-of-the-millenium sensibilities she’s known for, as she advances her self-made sonic world beyond the present and into the future with experimental-minded production, an expanded moodboard of vintage touchstones, and some of her most sophisticated songwriting to date,” as per press materials heralding Sometimes, Forever’s release.

Soccer Mommy (Sophie Allison) announced a new album, ‘Sometimes, Forever,’ and released its lead single, “Shotgun.”

The powerful “Holy Affliction” shines a light on the collaboration between Allison and Lopatin that yielded Sometimes, Forever. “’Unholy’ was really fun in the studio because the end result was totally different from what we expected,” explained Sophie. “Dan made this really cool sequence with the demo vocals that wound up becoming most of the song. It was nice to have two different versions of the song that kind of mashed together.”
