Laufey And Tegan & Sara To Appear In ‘The Simpsons’ Exclusive Disney+ Episode

On June 17, Laufey and Tegan and Sara will join an illustrious list of musicians who have been animated for an episode of The Simpsons. The Grammy-winning songstress and Canadian pop duo are set to appear in the Disney+ exclusive double-episode “Extreme Makeover: Homer Edition.”

Over 800 episodes of the legendary animated series have aired on Fox since The Simpsons debuted in 1989. Disney+ is currently the streaming home, along with partner platform Hulu, of the show. Upcoming episodes “Extreme Makeover: Homer Edition,” “Simpsley” (premieres July 3) and “Yellow Mirror” (premieres August 26) will air exclusively on Disney+.

Actress Betty Gilpin will also guest star on “Extreme Makeover: Homer Edition.” A description of the episode reads:

In this Disney+ exclusive double-episode, Homer and Marge’s fun couples’ date night goes off the rails when Marge learns Homer left the kids unsupervised with only the doorbell camera as a babysitter. Frustrated with her imperfect husband, a tipsy Marge stirs up a trilogy of fantasies of a different Homer. The special guest stars Betty Gilpin, with musical guests Laufey and Tegan and Sara.

A who’s who of musicians have previously appeared on The Simpsons. R.E.M., Phish, Willie Nelson, Yo La Tengo, Britney Spears, Johnny Cash, Weezer, Dave Matthews, Trombone Shorty, Zooey Deschanel, Alison Krauss and The White Stripes are just a few of the program’s past musical guests. Tegan & Sara continues a long line of Canadian artists to visit Springfield, following the likes of Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Justin Bieber, The Weeknd and Paul Anka.
