Originally released in 1985, “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” helped Simple Minds breakthrough in America. The song penned by guitarist Steve Schiff and producer Keith Forsey was featured in the classic film The Breakfast Club and topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Frontman Jim Kerr was in fine form as he showed off his vocal range on the band’s biggest U.S. hit. Kerr worked the audience into a frenzy and had them chant the iconic “hey hey hey” and “la la la la” refrains.
