Sierra Ferrell Revisits The Beatles’ ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ In Amsterdam

Sierra Ferrell's Heavy Petal Tour touched down in Amsterdam Tuesdaybrainstorm for a show at the famed Paradiso. Ferrell began her encore by dusting off a cover of The Beatles’ “Don’t Let Me Down.”
While “Don’t Let Me Down” was a staple of Ferrell’s concerts throughout 2023 and early 2024, the song hadn’t been performed since April 23, 2024, according to Setlist.FM statistics. The Beatles cover was reportedly on the printed stage setlist for Ferrell’s Monday night show in Paris but went unplayed at Le Trianon before resurfacing on Tuesday in Amsterdam.
Sierra Ferrell recast the Lennon-McCartney composition from The Beatles’ 1969 Let It Be/Get Back sessions with her signature Americana sound.Mike Robinson, formerly of Railroad Earth, provided tasteful pedal steel licks, Oliver Bates Craven ripped a guitar solo on his Telecaster and Ferrell showcased her remarkable vocal range. The audience sang along at the end when prompted by Ferrell.

Ferrell performs in Hamburg tonight before devoting the weekend to a string of festival appearances. The next North American leg begins on August 5 in Los Angeles.
