While “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” is currently at the top of Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, a spot the song has held for 10 weeks, Shaboozey showed off a different side of his musicality last night. The singer, rapper and producer delivered a performance of “Highway” on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
Both “Highway” and “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” are featured on Shaboozey’s breakthrough album, Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going. The 12-track record came out in May on the heels of the Virginia native’s two features on Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter LP.

“Highway” is a somber tale of romance and heartbreak as opposed to the joyous “A Bar Song (Tipsy).” Shaboozey still splashes elements of hip-hip within the countrified ballad, a mix of genres that is a key component of his music.
