Saturday Stream | My Morning Jacket Live

Earlier this week My Morning Jacket announced a new album, The Waterfall, which will be released via ATO Records/Capitol Records on May 4. In support of the LP Jim James and crew are heading out on a huge global tour, kicking off May 15 at the Georgia Theatre in Athens, Georgia. As skilled on stage as they are in the studio, MMJ have consistently put on killer live performances over the course of their career. To get a sense of the power behind a My Morning Jacket show, the Spotify playlist below features 20 live cuts released by the band starting with their early material and continuing up to their most recent output.

Along with originals, the playlist includes several cover songs, festival appearances and guest spots. No strangers to stretching a song out on stage, the selections from their 2006 live album, Okonokos, were chosen as examples of the band’s willingness to jam in the live setting.
