Rush Announces ‘Cinema Strangiato 2019’ Screenings

Rush Cinema Strangiato 2019 will bring the music of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame power trio to theaters around the world on August 21. Attendees will see highlights from the band’s R40 Live concert film as well as previously unreleased backstage footage, new interviews with famed Rush fans Tom Morello, Taylor Hawkins, Billy Corgan and more.
Performances of “Closer To The Heart,” “Subdivisions” and “Tom Sawyer” from a 2015 tour that currently stands as Rush’s farewell will be among the cuts from R40 Live that will make it to the big screen. A previously unreleased soundcheck of “Jacob’s Ladder” will be featured along with Morello, Hawkins, Corgan and violinist Jonathan Dinklage talking about their love of Rush. In addition, Rush: Cinema Strangiato 2019 will include a mini-documentary about the making of bassist Geddy Lee’s recently released Geddy Lee’s Big Beautiful Book Of Bass.

“I’m excited for fans to see some new clips from our R40 tour but also a peek behind the scenes of making the Big Beautiful Book Of Bass,” said Lee in a statement. “Trafalgar Releasing is thrilled to bring Rush: Cinema Strangiato 2019 to theatres around the globe for the first of what we’re hoping will become an annual event – bringing fans together to experience a celebration of one of the world’s most popular rock bands,” added Kymberli Frueh, senior vice president for acquisitions at Trafalgar Releasing.
