Robert Plant and Alison Krauss are featured in a new installment of NPR Music’s Tiny Desk (Home) Concert video series. The pair led an all-star band in performances of three songs from their recently released album, Raise The Roof.
The session was filmed at Nashville’s Sound Emporium, where the Led Zeppelin frontman and famed vocalist recorded Raise The Roof as well as portions of their 2007 debut collaborative album, Raising Sand. Plant and Krauss were backed by Viktor Krauss on electric bass and electric guitar, multi-instrumentalist Stuart Duncan, upright bassist Dennis Crouch, guitarist JD McPherson and percussionist Jay Bellerose for their Tiny Desk (Home) Concert.

Robert and Alison fronted the ensemble on “Can’t Let Go,” a song penned by Randy Weeks and popularized by Lucinda Williams, to start the set. “That’s a song I like singing,” Plant added before introducing a cover of Bobby Moore & the Rhythm Aces’ “Searching For My Love,” which he explained he first heard when he was a 15-years-old. Krauss stepped into the spotlight to sing lead on the “Trouble With My Lover” finale. Allen Toussaint wrote “Trouble With My Love,” a tune first recorded by soul singer Betty Harris.
Next summer Robert Plant and Alison Krauss will embark on a world tour in support of Raise The Roof. The trek marks the pair’s first concerts together in 12 years.
