Rilo Kiley’s Jenny Lewis & Pierre de Reeder Perform Together At G*VE A F*CK LA Wildfire Benefit

Jenny Lewis and Pierre de Reeder previewed the upcoming Rilo Kiley reunion tour by performing together at the G*VE A F*CK LA Wildfire benefit concert last night. Paramore’s Hayley Williams and MUNA’s Katie Gavin accompanied the pair on “Let Me Back In” during the all-star event held at The Hollywood Palladium.

St. Vincent, Kevin Morby, Waxahatchee, Courtney Barnett, FINNEAS, Fred Armisen, Lucy Dacus, Perfume Genius, The Linda Lindas and others were also part of the lineup of musicians and comedians who participated in the concert held in response to the recent Los Angeles area wildfires. The benefit show and auction supported local organizations, including Altadena Girls, Friends in Deed, One Voice and Pasadena Humane Society. Veeps hosted a livestream of the concert.

After being introduced by John C. Reilly, Rilo Kiley’s Jenny Lewis and Pierre de Reeder took The Hollywood Palladium stage with Hayley Williams and Katie Gavin in tow. Lewis wore an outfit referencing her appearance starring in the 1989 film, Troop Beverly Hills, and showed support for a local Girl Scouts troop.

The four musicians performed the Rilo Kiley song, “Let Me Back In,” which was released on the 2013 outtakes compilation album, rkives. The song’s lyrics include the repeated line, “L.A., you always let me back in.”

In May, Rilo Kiley will embark on a tour together for the first time since 2008. Lewis and de Reeder will be joined by Blake Sennett and Jason Boesel on the tour.
