Report | Grateful Dead Live At The Coliseum Vinyl Details
By Scott Bernstein Mar 3, 2014 • 1:40 pm PST

It appears the Dead will issue the 2-LP set Live At The Coliseum, featuring most of the band’s first-ever show at Hampton Coliseum from May 4, 1979, on Record Store Day. The producers are listed as the Grateful Dead and the band’s legacy manager David Lemieux. Lacquers were cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman mastering, the release was pressed at RTI on 2 180-gram LPs and housed in an old-school style gatefold jacket. Live At The Coliseum will mark the first release of music from this show in any format.
The release seems to include the bottom end of the first set and the entire second set. There was no encore that night. We’re especially excited to hear the “Estimated” > “Eyes” sequence that takes up an entire side of vinyl.
