Bob Dylan – Trouble No More – The Bootleg Series Vol. 13 / 1979-1981

The Scoop: Bob Dylan’s interest in Christianity brought about his “gospel era” in which the Jewish-raised musician released the spiritually inspired albums Slow Train Coming in 1979, Saved in 1980 and Shot Of Love in 1981. The 13th installment in his archival Bootleg Series collects live audio recordings of live performances from that time period. Two of the eight discs making up the extensive set are entirely made up of rare and unreleased outtakes and rehearsals, including 14 never-before-heard original Dylan songs. Only the track “Ye Shall Be Changed,” which was issued in 1991 on The Bootleg Series, Vol. 1-3 had previously been released. Check out the previously unheard “Making A Liar Out Of Me” below:

DELA & The Aggrolites – Opening Night

The Scoop: Opening Night is the debut album from DELA featuring Slightly Stoopid’s Daniel “Dela” Delacruz and The Rolling Stones touring member/KDTU fronman Karl Denson. The duo is backed by Los Angeles-based reggae outfit The Aggrolites across the guest-filled record’s 11 tracks. Contributions come from the likes of Rashawn Ross, Andy Geib, Marco Benevento, Rebecca Jade, Jesse Wagner, Chali 2na and others. “This is the first of many albums, hence the title,” Dela stated. “I wanted to make it feel like you were coming to the opening show of something you hadn’t ever heard before. Musically, I wanted to go in a different direction. I’ve been playing Jamaican-related music since I was 16-years-old. I’ve never seen anyone try to make an album like this. When you’re listening to it, I hope it feels good.” Check out the video for “Atlantic & Smith” featuring Fishbone’s Angelo Moore:
