Reed Mathis & Electric Beethoven Announce Return With February 2018 Tour Dates
By Scott Bernstein Jan 23, 2018 • 12:27 pm PST

Classical Dance Music (CDM) act Reed Mathis and Electric Beethoven will soon return to the stage. The Beethoven interpreters have detailed the Maps We Found In The Ground Tour, which consists of five dates in February. Look for the group to debut new material, which of course in their case means digging deeper into Beethoven’s repertoire to frame them in fresh CDM arrangements.
Bassist Reed Mathis will be joined for the run by previous EB mates keyboardist Todd Stoops and guitarist Clay Welch. Reed has recruited Josh Raymer, his former Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey band mate from 2007 – 2009, to play drums for the tour. Josh’s only prior appearance with the group took place at last year’s Camp Bisco festival. The tour gets its name from Maps We Found In The Ground, an album featuring an improvised performance of movements from Beethoven’s 3rd and 6th symphonies, recorded live in Colorado and studio enhanced with an orchestra. Up first for Reed and Electric Beethoven is a performance at Gypsy Sally’s in Washington, D.C. on February 21. Then, the band visits Brooklyn Bowl in New York City on February 22. From there, the quartet hits The Acoustic in Bridgeport on February 23, plays an official moe. after-party in Albany at The Hollow on February 24 and concludes the run at Tellus 360 in Lancaster on February 25.
