Red Hot Chili Peppers Perform Radiohead’s ‘The Pyramid Song’ At The Great Pyramids
By Jeffrey Greenblatt Mar 16, 2019 • 11:31 am PDT

Red Hot Chili Peppers performed in Egypt at The Great Pyramids Of Giza on Friday. The California funk-rock band delivered a career-spanning show that included a notable nod to their location with a Radiohead cover during their encore.
The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame act mixed material from throughout their catalog. The four-piece delivered takes on “Dani California,” “Californication” and “Under the Bridge” along with the recently revived “Fortune Faded,” which had been sitting unplayed for 12 years. Covers of The Stooges “I Wanna Be Your Dog” and their signature take on Stevie Wonder’s “Higher Ground” helped highlight their 17-song main set.
Josh Klinghoffer offered up an unexpected take on Radiohead’s “Pyramid Song” to begin their encore. The guitarist delivered a solo version of Amnesiac track on piano with “Goodbye Angels” and “Give It Away” closing out their historic performance.
