Fred Armisen Joins Real Estate In Los Angeles For ‘Atlas’ & More

The actor/musician played acoustic guitar and percussion with the band at The Bellwether.

Real Estate was joined by actor/musician Fred Armisen during their concert last night at The Bellwether in Los Angeles. Armisen played acoustic guitar and percussion with the band while they performed their album Atlas in full.

Real Estate added guitarist James Richardson to their lineup for their recently embarked upon tour celebrating their 2014 album Atlas. Guitarist Julian Lynch exited the band he joined in 2016 following a final performance with Real Estate on August 31 at Seattle’s Bumbershoot festival.

Wednesday’s concert in L.A. began with a batch of songs from various albums before turning attention to Atlas. Armisen, co-founded Trenchmouth in Chicago in the late-1980s, started on acoustic guitar for “Had To Hear,” “Past Lives” and “Talking Backwards.”

Armisen then moved to percussion for “April’s Song,” “The Bend,” “Crime,” “Primitive,” “How Might I Live,” “Horizon” and the Atlas closing track, “Navigator.” Armisen was also on auxiliary percussion for the multi-song encore.
