Rainbow Kitten Surprise unveiled a new single, “Overtime,” with vocals from seven-time Grammy-winner Kacey Musgraves. The track — marking the first guest feature on an RKS song — is set for the North Carolina-born band’s first album in six years, Love Hate Music Box, due out on May 10 via Elektra.

RKS recently announced Love Hate Music Box along with their first tour dates since canceling an extensive 2023 trek as frontperson Ela Melo focused on her mental wellness. The new Musgraves featuring single follows previous Love Hate Music Box previews “Superstar” and “LOL.”

The latest offering is “Overtime,” which Melo detailed.

“I really believe in serendipity,” she said. “I wrote ‘Overtime’ on a Saturday, met Kacey the following Monday, and got up the nerve to ask if she’d be down to lay down some vocals for it on Tuesday. It’s the first time we’ve had a feature on an RKS song and we’re still pinching ourselves that it’s her.”

Kacey Musgraves also expressed her excitement on the collaboration in a video message shared by RKS, check it out and listen to “Overtime” below.

Rainbow Kitten Surprise added extra shows in major cities due to popular demand. Check out the band’s itinerary below.
