Watch Railroad Earth Play ‘The Great Divide’ & ‘Blues Highway’ At The Capitol Theatre

Railroad Earth shared pro-shot video of recent live performances of “The Great Divide” and “Blues Highway.” Both songs appear on the band’s new studio album, All For The Song that is set for release this Friday, April 22.

The official video footage comes from Railroad Earth’s concert on March 19 at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York. That evening’s setlist presented several songs from All For The Song, which was record in New Orleans with producer Anders Osborne. The album is the first to be released since the death of co-founding member Andy Goessling in 2018.

“The Great Divide” opens the album and was written by RRE guitarist Todd Sheaffer as a tribute to Goessling. Sheaffer aslo wrote “Blues Highway,” which recently made its live debut at The Caverns. The song was inspired by a harrowing true-life event that occurred while traveling down Highway 61.

“We had a show in Natchez, so I decided to make my own adventure out of the trip,” he recalls. “I flew to New Orleans, rented a car, and drove up the Blues Highway like a tourist, stopping and touring the old plantations and blues honky-tonks. I was smelling the river and the refineries. On my return to New Orleans, I drove into what might’ve been a hurricane with intense and terrifying lightning to boot. In the dead of night, I gave up trying to inch down the road, pulled over, and waited it out. The trip seemed like a parallel for my life at the time and inspired the song.”
