Railroad Earth released the new single “Come And Go Moon” today. The Little Feat-esque track is featured on All For The Song, a studio album produced by Anders Osborne that drops on April 22.
Primarily recorded during 2019 sessions held in New Orleans, the 10-track All For The Song is Railroad Earth’s first full-length studio album consisting of original material since 2014’s Last Of The Outlaws. The band retreated to New Orleans following the death of co-founding member Andy Goessling. “From the beginning, the vision was more than just the music,” explained guitarist/vocalist Todd Sheaffer. “We looked at this like a ‘destination’ record. Our past records were all made close to home or, in fact, at home. Andy’s passing was very much in the center of our thoughts and our hearts in the writing and recording of this album. Things were so shaken up that we thought it’d be a benefit to go away from all of the distractions and be together.”

Railroad Earth bassist Andrew Altman wrote “Come And Go Moon” a while back and thought the time in the Big Easy was ideal for the song to get the studio treatment. “I spent a number of my formative years as a musician traveling to New Orleans as often as I could and it’s sound has had a huge influence on me,” noted Altman. “I’m really happy with the way this tune evolved from such a personal sentiment to a real New Orleans-inspired band sound.” All For The Song was previously previewed with singles “The Great Divide,” “It’s So Good” and “Runnin’ Wild.”
