Railroad Earth enlisted former tourmate Daniel Donato to contribute scorching electric guitar to their newly issued single, “Keep Your Eyes Open.” The track serves as the first preview of the Americana act’s forthcoming studio album, which will arrive on Ineffable Records later this year.

A title and exact release date for the follow-up to the septet’s 2022 album, All For The Song, have yet to be revealed. The single comes as RRE celebrates their 25th anniversary as a band in 2026. Railroad Earth recently debuted a new lineup featuring Andrew Ryan on bass and George Guthrie on banjo and guitar.

Last summer, Railroad Earth, Yonder Mountain String Band and Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country hit the road together for a joint tour. The decision for RRE to recruit the Nashville-based guitarist for “Keep Your Eyes Open” seemed like a natural one.

“We had a great time on the road with Daniel last summer, and right away knew his playing would be the perfect collaboration for this song we were working on. The song carries more weight with each passing day, and we couldn’t wait to get it out,” explained Railroad Earth drummer Carey Harmon.

Frontman Todd Sheaffer wrote and sings “Keep Your Eyes Open.” The song was debuted live by Railroad Earth on October 11, 2025 at the Hillberry: The Harvest Moon festival.
