Radiohead Dusts Off ‘Fake Plastic Trees’ In Mexico City

English rockers Radiohead brought their tour in support of A Moon Shaped Pool to Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City, Mexico last night. The band’s first of two consecutive shows in Mexico City in between Austin City Limits Music Festival appearances was heavy on tunes from their latest LP and also included the tour debut of an old favorite.

Radiohead opened with four songs off A Moon Shaped Pool before treating fans to The Bends cut “My Iron Lung.” Next up was the beloved “National Anthem” from Kid A ahead of a track a piece from In Rainbows (“All I Need”) and Amnesiac (“Pyramid Song”) as well as two tunes off The King Of Limbs (“Bloom” and “Separator”). It was then back to A Moon Shaped Pool for “Indentikit” and “The Numbers.” The set continued with more recent material in “Bodysnatchers,” “Feral” and “Nude,” while Radiohead ended the 17-song main set with Kid A gems “Everything In Its Right Place” and “Idioteque.”

Thom Yorke and Co. returned for a career-spanning, five-song encore that included “Let Down,” “Present Tense,” “Reckoner,” “Planet Telex” and “Weird Fishes/Arpeggi.” The evening’s biggest surprise came to start the second encore as Radiohead dusted off a full band performance of “Fake Plastic Trees” for the first time since 2010 and then ended the show with a singalong “Creep.” Radiohead returns to Palacio de los Deportes tonight.
