Radiohead Busts Out ‘The Bends’ In Mexico City

On Tuesday night English rockers Radiohead completed a two-night stand at Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City, Mexico. While the first night featured the return of “Fake Plastic Trees” after six years, last night’s finale included another bust out off The Bends.

Tuesday’s concert started the same way Monday’s show did, with four songs off the recently released A Moon Shaped Pool: “Burn The Witch,” “Daydreaming,” “Desert Island Disk” and “Ful Stop.” Thom Yorke and Co. followed a similar script for the rest of the 17-song main set though “2 + 2 = 5,” “No Surprises” and “Lotus Flower” made the setlist on Tuesday but not on Monday. The only other song played last night but not at the Mexico City opener was the title track off The Bends. Radiohead hadn’t performed “The Bends” since 2010.

There were big changes in store for the first encore on Tuesday as “Present Tense” was the only repeat from the previous night. On Tuesday fans were treated to renditions of “How To Disappear Completely” from Kid A, “You And Whose Army” off Amnesiac, OK Computer gem “Paranoid Android” and Hail To The Thief’s “There There.” Following a second encore of OK Computer’s “Exit Music (For A Film)” and another “Fake Plastic Trees,” Radiohead surprised the audience by returning for a third encore of “Creep.”

Next up for Radiohead is a performance in Austin on Friday night.
