The Raconteurs were joined by The Strokes vocalist Julian Casablancas last night at El Plaza Condesa in Mexico City. The collaboration took place during the evening’s encore,
Casablancas came out to join Jack White, Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence, Patrick Keeler and touring member Dean Fertita on “The Modern Age.” The Strokes recorded the song for their debut album, 2001’s Is This It.
The Raconteurs, who are touring in support of their latest album Help Us Stranger, followed the collab with “Salute Your Solution” from their 2008 sophomore album Consoler Of The Lonely and a cover of Donovan’s “Hey Gyp (Dig The Slowness),” which appears on the new record. The night ended with “Steady, As She Goes” from the band’s 2006 debut LP, Broken Boy Solider.
