The Bowery Presents, a subsidiary of AEG Presents, announced its new venue Racket will open in 2023. The 650-capacity club will be located at the New York City space in the Chelsea neighborhood that previously hosted Highline Ballroom.

“Racket is very much the sister venue to Music Hall of Williamsburg: a fundamental building block for us in Manhattan and an important addition to Bowery’s commitment to both artist development and amazing experiences for our fans and partners,” noted The Bowery Presents founder John Moore and his partner, Jim Glancy, in a joint statement as per Hits Daily Double.

Operators of Highline Ballroom were forced to shutter the venue in February of 2019 after its landlord decided not to renew the venue’s lease. The space is located at 431 West 16th Street near Chelsea Market.

“[D]etails on the venue & show announcements coming soon,” according to the first post on Racket’s Instagram page. The New York-founded company’s roster of venues includes NYC’s Brooklyn Steel, Roadrunner in Boston, Richmond’s The National and the State Theatre in Portland, Maine among numerous others.
