Queens of the Stone Age scrapped all of their July tour dates as frontman Josh Homme undergoes emergency surgery. The band was on the road in Europe for a mix of headlining shows and festival appearances.
“QOTSA regret to announce that Josh Homme must return to the United States immediately for emergency surgery,” the group wrote in a statement. “Every effort was made to push through and play for you, but it is no longer an option to continue.”

The nature of Homme’s ailment has not been disclosed. Josh Homme was diagnosed with cancer in 2022 and underwent successful surgery to remove it last year. “I’m good. I’m all clear,” Homme told ITV News last November and added he was feeling “the best I’ve felt all year.”
Queens Of The Stone Age initially canceled their appearance at Milan’s AMA Festival on July 5. The band cited the move was made “due to illness.”
Homme and his bandmtes called off dates spanning July 10 – 27. It’s unclear whether QOTSA will make festival appearances in August. A North American tour begins on September 27.
