Purple Hatter’s Ball Announces Yoga & Art Village Program

The ninth annual Purple Hatter’s Ball music festival will take place at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida on June 17 – 19. Benefiting the nonprofit The Rachel Morningstar Foundation, which was founded for remembrance of Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park friend and music festival lover Rachel Morningstar Hoffman, additional details regarding this year’s event including the daily schedule and the Yoga & Art Village Program have been revealed.

Purple Hatter’s Ball’s Yoga & Art Village Program includes 25 fun, informative and healthy living activities and classes such as Kirtan Morningstar, BoomYoga Spiritual Warrior with Joaquin Antonio, Sound Healing Meditation, West African Drumming with Luke Quaranta, Live Music Vinyasa Flow, Creative Expressions Drawing, AcroYoga, Contact Hooping and more. The event starts with an action day led by The Polish Ambassador on Thursday, June 16 built around participation in three regenerative projects with a free Thursday night Pre-Party featuring Sunsquabi, Savi Fernandez Birthday Band, Space Kadet and Gypsy Elise open to those who participate. Papadosio will close out the action on the main Amphitheater Stage on Friday, while The Polish Ambassador followed by The Floozies bring Saturday to a close and Melvin Seals & JGB wrap up the festival on Sunday. Earphunk, DubConscious, The Mantras, Roosevelt Collier Band and The Hip Abduction are just a few of the dozens of acts set to perform at Purple Hatter’s Ball ’16.

Attendees can take advantage of the park’s many activities such as swimming, canoeing, kayaking, biking and disc golf. A PHB tradition will continue when Rachel’s loving mother, Margie Weiss (aka Mama Margie), heads a moving ceremony celebrating her daughter’s life. Each year they set free 24 monarch butterflies – 23 to represent Rachel’s age when she died and one for her continuing spirit.
