By Jeffrey Greenblatt Dec 23, 2017 7:16 am PST

Each Saturday, CBS This Morning presents a series of musical performances under the Saturday Sessions banner. This morning’s installment featured Punch Brothers, who were joined by singer-songwriter Aoife O’Donovan for a special holiday-themed edition.

For their appearance on the CBS morning show Punch Brothers along with O’Donovan delivered a take on The Pogues modern-day Christmas classic “Fairytale Of New York” that was originally released on the Irish act’s 1988 release If I Should Fall from Grace with God. O’Donovan also assisted on “Douglas Fir,” which Thile debuted with her last year as a Song of the Week on A Prairie Home Companion. The bluegrass act also performed one of their own songs with “Little Lights” from their 2015 album The Phosphorescent Blues.
