Pro-Shot Video: Widespread Panic Works ‘Sweet Leaf’ Into ‘Proving Ground’
By Scott Bernstein May 25, 2016 • 7:09 am PDT

Back on February 23 Widespread Panic brought their Winter Tour to Chrysler Hall Theatre in Norfolk, Virginia, where the Georgia rockers played a handful of rare covers as part of the concert. Earlier today the band unveiled professionally-shot video of one of those covers which was performed within a WSP classic.
Widespread Panic ended their second set in Norfolk back in February with an impressive “Proving Ground” > “Sweet Leaf” > “Proving Ground” sequence. It was just the second performance of Black Sabbath’s “Sweet Leaf” for the group since 2000 and first since Halloween 2014 – an 86 show gap. Guitarist Jimmy Herring is on fire throughout, while John Bell shows off his best Ozzy Osbourne on the stoner rock anthem.
