The Rolling Stones returned home to Britain last night for their first performance of 2013 outside of North America, when they made their debut at the Glastonbury Festival. Despite rumors of special guests, the only additional musicians who joined the Stones during the set were ex-member Mick Taylor and The Voice Chamber Choir and London Youth Choir.
Taylor emerged for his usual nightly renditions of “Midnight Rambler” and “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” as well as another take on “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking.” Meanwhile, the two choirs helped out on “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.” The biggest surprise of the evening was the first “2000 Light Years From Home” since August 25, 1990 – a major bust out for the band. Mick, Keef and the rest of the Stones also changed the lyrics of “Factory Girl” to “Glastonbury Girl.”
The Stones allowed BBC to broadcast an hour of their set in the U.K. and a rip of the live simulcast has already surfaced…
