Pro-Shot Video: Phish Plays ‘Guelah Papyrus’ At SPAC

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio singled out “Guelah Papyrus” as a song he wished the quartet would play more. “I would kinda think to myself ‘Man, we played, like, ‘Guelah Papyrus’ once in the last two years.’ And I like that song. I’m a big Guelah Papyrus’ fan. It’s one of my faves,” Anastasio said. Phish finally dusted off the A Picture Of Nectar classic on Sunday at SPAC and today the band shared pro-shot video of the performance.

The return of “Guelah Papyrus” after nearly a year gave bassist Mike Gordon and Anastasio a chance to show off their dance moves. Drummer Jon Fishman got in on the act at the end of the song by coming out from the kit to join in the dance. At one point Mike and Trey held their feet up with “H” written on Anastasio’s sneaker and “I” on Gordon’s neon green sneaker. Watch how it went down:
