Pro-Shot Video: Phil Lesh & Friends Plays ‘Reuben & Cerise’ At The Capitol Theatre

By Scott Bernstein May 31, 2016 7:37 am PDT

On Sunday night Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh ended a run of three consecutive Phil Lesh & Friends shows at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York. While guitarists Eric Krasno and Warren Haynes as well as drummer Tony Leone and percussionist Alex Koford performed with Lesh on all three nights, the keyboard seat was filled by John Medeski on Friday and Melvin Seals on Saturday and Sunday.

Seals, the longtime keyboardist for the Jerry Garcia Band, made his Phil Lesh & Friends debut this past weekend. One of the Jerry Garcia Band staples Phil & Friends played with Seals on board was Sunday’s rendition of “Reuben And Cerise.” Projections of Jerry were displayed on the walls of the historic venue while the band played.
