Pro-Shot Video: Naugatuck High School Percussion Ensemble Performs ‘Guyute’ By Phish

As reported, the Naugatuck High School Percussion Ensemble in Naugatuck, Connecticut has prepped a rendition of “Guyute” by Phish for their 2018 competitive season. Videographer MKDevo captured incredible footage of the youngsters performing their version of “Guyute” at the high school on March 27 and today has shared the video.

On Sunday, the Naugatuck High School Percussion Ensemble closed out their season by scoring first place in a competition held in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey. Phish lyricist Tom Marshall, who penned the song with Trey Anastasio, attended the performance and chatted with the students. “Guyute” was debuted by Phish on October 7, 1994 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Troy Peters and Don Hart arranged the orchestral version of the song with Dave Dion adapting the arrangement for percussion.

“Guyute” is the second Phish song the Naugatuck High School Percussion Ensemble has performed. Last year, the troupe scored big with a rendition of “Divided Sky.” Watch MKDevo’s video of “Guyute” followed by “Divided Sky”:
