Pro-Shot Video: Joe Russo’s Almost Dead Jams On Radiohead In Philadelphia

The latest installment of Grateful Dead tribute act Joe Russo’s Almost Dead‘s Rad Tracks series is a doozy. JRAD has unveiled pro-shot footage of the adventurous 40-minute segment that opened the band’s second set at The Fillmore Philadelphia on November 26, 2016.

Drummer Joe Russo, guitarists Scott Metzger and Tom Hamilton, keyboardist Marco Benevento and bassist Jon Shaw (subbing for Dave Dreiwitz) opened the evening’s closing frame with a Metzger-sung “Feel Like A Stranger.” The five-piece jammed “Stranger” into the end of “Slipknot!” and then played “Franklin’s Tower.” Out of “Franklin’s” came more “Slipknot!” which JRAD expertly worked into an instrumental rendition of Radiohead’s “Myxomatosis” and back again to “Slipknot!” A delicate “Crazy Fingers” ended the standout sequence.
