The 2017 installment of Camp Bisco is well underway as the action began at Montage Mountain in Scranton, Pennsylvania on Thursday. Host band The Disco Biscuits were among the performers on day one of Camp Bisco ’17 and professionally-shot video of tDB’s set can be viewed below.

The quartet opened with “Astronaut” and after exploring vast terrain for over 15 minutes slyly segued into a cover of “Run Like Hell” by Pink Floyd. Guitarist Jon “Barber” Gutwillig, bassist Marc “Brownie” Brownstein, keyboardist Aron Magner and drummer Allen Aucoin worked the Floyd cover back into “Astronaut” but instead of finishing they transitioned into “Digital Buddha.”

After nearly an hour filled with improv and no stops, the Disco Biscuits concluded the first segment of the set with the end of “Run Like Hell.” Next up was an expansive “Reactor” suite featuring “Portal To An Empty Head” within. Brownstein’s “Portal” was the only song played by the Biscuits last night debuted within the past 15 years. The grand finale of the set was the fitting anthem “Home Again.”

Camp Bisco continues on Friday with two sets from the Biscuits, performances from Bassnectar, Lotus, Beats Antique, Desert Dwellers and more. A webcast of both of today’s Bisco sets can be viewed via the band’s YouTube channel.
