Pro-Shot Video: The Disco Biscuits Debut Duran Duran Cover In New York
By Andy Kahn Dec 31, 2017 • 9:20 am PST

On Saturday, The Disco Biscuits held the third show of their four-night New Year’s Run in New York City with another evening at the PlayStation Theater. The concert was capped with the band offering a debut cover performance of a classic Duran Duran song.
Set one opened with “King Of The World” and closed with a take on Edvard Grieg’s “In The Hall Of The Mountain King,” which marked just the second rendition of the recently bust-out cover since 2004. Between the “King” tunes Bisco worked in “Magellan,” “Shelby Rose” and an inverted “Crystal Ball.”
The second half began with the first half of “Spraypaint” completing the version performed on Friday night. “Sound One” came next ahead of the ending portion of “Munchkin Invasion.” The quartet then began “Confrontation” before transitioning into the first part of “Munchkin Invasion” followed by “Sweating Bullets” and then the conclusion of “Confrontation.”

The encore featured the Disco Biscuits covering “Rio” by Duran Duran. The performance on Saturday marked the band’s first attempt at the 1982 hit.
Bisco will ring in 2018 with a final show tonight at the PlayStation Theater. A free webcast is available at the band’s official YouTube channel. Watch pro-shot video of Saturday’s concert here:
