Primus brought their Summer Tour 2024 to Big Flats, New York on Saturday for a concert at Tag’s Summer Stage. Opening act Puddles Pity Party joined Primus during their headlining set on a cover of Dio’s metal classic “Holy Diver.”

Saturday’s concert at Tag’s Summer Stage also included a performance by Primus’ tourmates Coheed and Cambria. Primus brought out Coheed And Cambria guitarist Claudio Sanchez during their set, tapping him to sit-in on a cover of Rush’s prog staple “Cygnus X-1,” as he’s done several times on their joint tour together.

Puddles Pity Party is the singing clown persona of Michael Geier. The guest vocalist emerged early in Primus’ set to join bassist Les Claypool, guitarist Larry “Ler” LaLonde and drummer Tim “Herb” Alexander.

Written by late metal icon Ronnie James Dio, “Holy Diver” served as the lead single and title track to his namesake band Dio’s 1983 debut album. Watch footage of Primus and Puddles Pity Party performing a cover of “Holy Diver” below:
