Primus Announces ‘A Goblin In The New Year’ Featuring Members Of Tool & Mastodon

For the 26th year in a row bassist Les Claypool will perform in the Bay Area on New Year’s Eve. This year’s concert will find Primus headlining the Fox Theater in Oakland with support featuring the live debut of a long-in-the-making supergroup.

Primus’s theme for the December 31st concert is “A Goblin In The New Year.” Legend Of The Seagullman, a band that includes Danny Carey of Tool and Mastodon’s Brent Hinds, are set to open. The supergroup released a few songs in 2015, but little is known about Legend Of The Seagullman otherwise.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, October 20 at 10 a.m. PT via Ticketmaster. A venue pre-sale begins Thursday, October 19 using the password “pattern” at 10 a.m. PT.
