Les Claypool has hinted that Primus would play Oakland’s Fox Theater for New Year’s Eve and today we finally have confirmation of the show. Yet this won’t be an ordinary performance as not only will it see the return of Tim “Herb” Alexander to the trio in place of Jay Lane, but it’s also been dubbed “Primus And The Chocolate Factory.”

The special show will find the trio joined by the Frog Brigade Ensemble for a journey through the music of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The band promises “a Primus show like you’ve never seen before.”

A presale starts this Thursday morning at 10 a.m. PT and those who order via the Primus presale will be eligible to win one of 5 Golden Tickets which would allow the winner a signed poster, event T-shirt, a bucketful of candy and a tour of Primus’s backstage (with a guest) on New Years Eve.
