Preservation Hall Jazz Band headlined a concert at New York City’s Fordham University last fall. The October 14 show celebrated the inauguration of Fordham President Tania Tetlow as well as 75 years of the university’s renowned radio station WFUV, who recently released video of the performance.

Performing ahead of the renowned New Orleans outfit was Rén with the Mane and Fordham alumni Blonde Otter. When it came time for Pres Hall, the group’s horn section marched through campus to the stage on the steps of the library with new president Tania Tetlow — who hails from NOLA — joking that “she was supposed to introduce the legendary headliners, but the band beat her to it,” as per Fordham Magazine.

Tetlow, who has professional singer on her resume, lent her voice to the mix when the PHJB horns joined the rhythm section on a stage set up on the steps of Fordham’s library, the long-running Big Easy ensemble performed “Saint Peter Street,” “St. Louis Blues” and “Tootie Ma Is A Big Fine Thing.”
