Press materials for “Life from Below” described the new cut:
Written by [trumpeter] Scott Morning, “Life from Below” unleashes an intense, cinematic energy — imagine a massive force like Godzilla breaking free from frozen depths, sparking a fierce and dramatic battle. Thunderous rhythms, sophisticated groove, and intricate textures build a sense of epic confrontation, driving the tension to its peak. Then, in a sharp contrast, the final section shifts gears into a smooth, laid-back groove reminiscent of ‘70s Miles Davis. The post-battle calm settles with sultry wah-soaked trumpet riffs, hypnotic basslines, and a sense of triumphant relief, creating a perfect blend of chaos and cool. It’s a dynamic journey through cinematic soundscapes and jazz-fusion vibes.
