Pitchfork Music Festival Announces 2017 Headliners

The 2017 Pitchfork Music Festival will take place at Union Park in Chicago on July 14 – 16. The media outlet hosting its 12th annual festival has revealed the three acts headlining this year’s event.
Friday, July 14 will feature a headlining set by LCD Soundsystem and the next night A Tribe Called Quest will hold down the headlining slot. Pitchfork’s final performance on Sunday, July 16 will be a set by Solange. A full lineup of performers will be confirmed at a later date.
Today’s announcement also revealed a partnership between the festival and Solange’s label and arts platform Saint Heron. Taking place at various Chicago venue between July 13 and 16, the Saint Heron curation series will showcase “art installation(s), film screening(s), artist talks, late night jazz jam sessions, and more.” Here’s a breakdown of the Saint Heron-curated events:
- Thursday, July 13th @ Black Cinema House at the Stony Island Arts Bank – Saint Heron curated evening of film and discussion
- Friday, July 14th @ Soho House Chicago – Poetry reading and discussion presented by Young Chicago Authors and Saint Heron
- Saturday, July 15th @ The Promontory – Saint Heron Presents an After Fest Jazz Jam & Party featuring the select house band and special surprise guests
- Friday, July 14th – Sunday, July 16th @ On-site Saint Heron Installation Space – Saint Heron will feature works from contemporary black art makers for the duration of the festival
